getting the data

I want to find out if and how people use technology in their youth work. I'm guessing that means a mix of qualitative and quantitative data. My problem is this...

How much is enough?

At the moment I'm thinking:

a questionnaire for 40 paid (either full time or part time) youth workers and 100 volunteers, given that most youth work in church settings is done by volunteers.

And

4 focus groups - 2 of users and 2 of non-users.

Any thoughts?

Recording My Research

We have been asked to create a blog as part of my Masters in Research course. I've had this blog for a while but mostly it has pointed at my other blog. So, I've decided to blog about my research here and to keep the two a little more separate.

I'm working on my research proposal this week and hope to look at how church based youth workers use digital tools to enhance the learning of the young people they work with. I'd delighted to hear your thoughts and ideas.
